Rule Change Proposals

The following rule proposals will be reviewed and acted on by the Board of Directors at their meeting to be held October 2, 2017 in Panguitch, Utah. All or part of the proposed rules MAY be incorporated into the 2018 Rule Book.

  •  NSPRA shall only “co-approve” an equal number of rodeos with CSPRA as CSPRA “co-approves” with NSPRA
  • Bring back Section 8, adjusted points throughout the year will be carried into the finals and combined with any adjusted finals points to determine world champions. I propose to pick your region at the time you pay your membership dues.
  • Any board member or event director who resigns before the end of their term will not be eligible to serve on the board of directors for 3 years.
  • Do not co-sanction or co-approve any rodeos held the same time as a NSPRA sanctioned rodeo.
  • First run on all cattle must be completed before any second run can be drawn.
  • No drop down at the finals.
  • Change 9.4.1 (pg 24). A $20 office charge per contestant will be assessed as follows: $1 judges fee, $.50 secretary fee, $4 to Gen Fund, $6 Central Entry Fee, $2,50 Association Fee, and $5 Awards Fee
  • At a rodeo over a few days, if no times are made, the money from that rodeo rolls over to the next day’s rodeo purse. At the end of the rodeo series, if no times are made, the money rolls over to that year’s finals.
  • If the ground is deemed unacceptable by the event director and/or judges, the contestant will have the option to compete or to draw out. If they draw out they are still liable for their $20 office and the rodeo will count for the finals.
  • Hazer must be at least 40 years old AND hold an active membership in the NSPRA.
  • Policy and Procedures (modify) #27.  Any contestant entered in a rodeo that is cancelled can count that rodeo as one of their five qualifying rodeos, subject to paying the NSPRA fee.
  • Policy and Procedures (New) #28.  Any contestant entered in an event where they are the only contestant entered in that event when the books close and therefore cannot compete per Rule 15.6.4 man count that rodeo as one of their five qualifying rodeos, subject to paying the NSPRA fee for that rodeo. This policy only applies to the specific event and does not allow contestant to draw out of any other events with at least one other contestant.

 Typos on the Approved Rodeos
It was brought to my attention today that I need to do a better job proof reading because there are a couple of typos on the approved rodeo schedules. So for clarification, Grants, Magdalena, Amarillo and Grandfield are all within Region 3. Also, Magdalena does have water for livestock!! Sorry for the inconvenience.

OTHER EVENTS DURING GRANTS!

There are lots of activities for the entire family during the Grants NSPRA rodeo over the 4th of July.  Clink on the link below for more information!

Releases

As we get into the busy rodeo season, be aware of the 4 Release Rule.  The NSPRA no longer has medical releases,  vet releases, or visual releases.  Read the full rule under Section 13 of the 2017 Rule Book, but the short version is this:   Every contestants is allowed 4 releases per season without being liable for their full fees.  They will, however, still owe the $20 per rodeo NSPRA Charge.  After the 4th Release during the rodeo season, a contestant who does not compete for any reason will be liable for all of their fees.   If you must release from a rodeo, or series of rodeos, we appreciate you sending a check to the National Office at your earliest convenience.  You can also call with a credit card and pay it that way!
